this was produced in 2013. i had been to the middle east for the first time of my life (some days spent in israel, palestine, jordan). my girlfriend at the time lived in tel aviv, and had a 10-minute walk from her flat to where she worked. she asked me to provide her a soundtrack to go to work and to go back home. it was a creative challenge for me: how can I create music that will be interesting enough to last 20 minutes?

i mixed a lot of vibes I felt at that time: i wanted my music to sound gigantic, ambitious, full of colours and feelings. of ideas. at that time, kanye was recording yeezus in paris and I thought i could have an opportunity to sumbit beats. here is the beat I made. i'm obviously not on yeezus. but I used this composition for years at meetings with artists, as my way to show what my creative abilities were. usually, people were just listening to the whole thing with me, in silence.

i tried to mix my favorite influences: the electronic poetry of björk, the twisted grandeur of kanye west, the unorthodox oriental feel of emel mathloutli, the basic energy of early gil scott heron records, the digitalized humanity of post-discovery daft punk, the percussive power of woodkid.

this is divided in three parts that I guess you can feel in the structure of the music. i had a pretty deep explanation of the song, but it's been too long and I don't really remember. i just remember i loved the idea of creating a song named "time" lasting for so long.

it features a sample of "time" by the last poets, "joga" by björk. every other sound on this was recorded and produced by me. i'm very proud i made this alone.
